PRECONFERENCE B
Critical Care Pharmacology
It's a fact. Critically ill patients require multiple medications, frequent dosage changes and knowledgeable staff to ensure safe and effective pharmacotherapy. In addition, new drugs and new protocols are introduced which broaden treatment options. New information on current medications becomes available requiring reconsideration of accepted practice. Risks and benefits must be balanced, keeping in mind the clinical picture as a whole. Learn from the experts to critically think through the available choices in order to help insure best possible outcomes for your patients.
This Preconference will enable you to:
- Recognize the complexity of medication choices and the factors which influence their effectiveness.
- Analyze the risks and benefits of prolonged use of select pharmacotherapeutic agents.
- Explore methods for safely titrating medications.
