Contraceptive Technology: Quest for Excellence

Conference Overview

Family planning is two things: Primary care and specialty practice. Family planning clinicians need both breadth and depth as they prescribe contraceptives for millions of healthy women and thousands of other women with complicating factors that can challenge even their medical specialists.

Browse through the program and you’ll see specialty practice reflected in a number of the sessions. Contraception for the medically-complicated woman guides you in managing the contraceptive needs of women who have diabetes, neurological, cardiovascular or other conditions. There’s always “new” news these days on continuous contraception and long-acting reversible contraceptives. Contraceptive management for lactating and postpartum women delves into the old-guard guidelines to weigh their merit. And the post-WHI studies and debates related to the use of hormone therapy have made it so complicated that even specialty practitioners need an update on the issues. Finally, jump into the Concurrent Sessions that cover cases related to your patients’ complex problems and brainstorm creative approaches to management.

Whether this is your first “CT,” or you’ve attended many, you’ll appreciate the variety of Pre-Conferences offered, the plenary sessions focused on the “hottest” topics, a timely optional Luncheon Presentation, and 12 interactive Concurrent Sessions focusing on practical clinical information and challenging cases. And don’t miss the Pre-Conference, IMPLANON® (etonogestrel implant) 68 mg Clinical Training, where you’ll learn to insert and manage our newest method of contraception. Space is limited for this training so be sure to sign-up early!

Look for the authors of Contraceptive Technology in the audience … we’re learning and taking notes right along with you! Family planning has entered the realm of ‘the more you know, the more you realize you need to know’ and this Conference will meet and surpass your highest expectations. See you there!
