Conference Overview

Cancer care continues to evolve as new discoveries change diagnostic and therapeutic approaches to cancer management. The ability to monitor cellular pathology and drug effectiveness is growing, leading to predictions of therapeutic success and individualized cancer therapy. As choices of therapies become more complex, communication with patients and families become more of a challenge. Transparency among the multidisciplinary team, patient and family can facilitate understanding of alternative choices and allow critical decision-making regarding cancer and symptom management treatment.

This 22nd annual national Oncology: Clinical Issues and Trends program is designed to help you discover current and emerging research discoveries to incorporate into your practice. Strategies to prevent and manage infection, medication errors, and individualize evidence based plans of care will be discussed as well as newly approved cytoxic and targeted treatment therapies.

Highlights and Benefits

  • A full day Pre-Conference on Cancer Care Across the Continuum, examining common practice issues that we face daily in the management of our patients.
  • Advanced sessions addressing key issues with medications, and new discoveries in therapeutic management of select cancers.
  • Exhibits that will introduce new products and services for your patients.
  • 15 Concurrent Sessions to help you tailor this program to your specific needs.

Located in the Washington, DC area, this event will give opportunity to explore the nation’s capitol while you fine tune your practice of Oncology nursing, social work or pharmacology across settings of care. We look forward to seeing you this fall for this unique educational opportunity.
