A Certificate of Attendance is given upon completion of course requirements, enabling you to register your credit with the appropriate licensing boards or associations. To apply for credit not listed below, use the procedure established by the specific organization. Additional brochures and evaluation forms provided upon request.

Physicians
Preconference: 5.5 credit hours (ACOG = 6 cognate credits)
Preconference Optional Training: 1.5 credit hours (ACOG = 2 cognate credits)
Main Conference: 13.5 credit hours (ACOG = 14 cognate credits)
Legal Nurse Consultant: No Credit

Contemporary Forums is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Contemporary Forums designates this educational activity for a maximum of the listed AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists has assigned the listed number of cognate credits to the Preconference and Main Conference.

Application for CME credit has been filed with the American Academy of Family Physicians. Determination of credit is pending.

Nurses and Nurse Practitioners
Preconference: 5.5 ANCC/6.6 CA BRN contact hours
Preconference Optional Training: 1.5 ANCC/1.8 CA BRN contact hours
Main Conference: 13.5 ANCC/16.3 CA BRN contact hours
Legal Nurse Consultant: 10 ANCC/12 CA BRN contact hours

Contemporary Forums is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. (As of January 1, 2007, ANCC’s contact hour = 60 minutes.) This credit is accepted by all State Boards of Nursing and most professional organizations.

Contemporary Forums is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider #04516. This credit is accepted by all State Boards of Nursing for license renewal. (1 contact hour = 50 minutes.)

The Certificate of Attendance will list both ANCC credit and California BRN credit. RN’s have the option of choosing which credit they will use for license renewal. Many professional organizations and certifying agencies require ANCC credit. Please check with your professional and certifying organizations regarding the acceptance of ANCC vs. California BRN credit.

Nurse-Midwives
Preconference: 5.5 hours
Preconference Optional Training: 1.5 hours
Main Conference: 13.5 hours
Legal Nurse Consultant: Credit Pending

The Continuing Education Committee of the American College of Nurse-Midwives grants reciprocity status to the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) for Category 1 offerings, providing the program is relevant to nurse-midwifery. Nurse-Midwives may report up to the listed hours of credit for the Preconference and Main Conference.

ACNM credit for the Legal Nurse Consultant Course is pending.

Physician Assistants
Preconference: 5.5 hours
Preconference Optional Training: 1.5 credit hours
Main Conference: 13.5 hours
Legal Nurse Consultant: No Credit

The American Academy of Physician Assistants accepts Category 1 CME approval from organizations accredited by the ACCME to grant Category 1 hours toward the Physician’s Recognition Award. PA’s may report up to the listed hours of credit.

PharmacologyCredit for Prescriptive Authority
Preconference: 1.5 hours
Main Conference: 5 hours available
