ONCOLOGY: CLINICAL ISSUES AND TRENDS

Dear Colleagues:

Care of the cancer patient has changed dramatically in the past decade with the discovery of novel diagnostic and therapeutic interventions. Many patients with advanced cancer diagnoses, which were previously unable to be controlled are now experiencing cancer as a chronic disease. With this paradigm shift, practitioners must readjust their approach. They must understand the latest agents, heighten their knowledge of supportive care measures, and become better informed regarding state-of-the-art of imaging techniques. In the wave of new technology, the deeply human needs of the patients and their families must also be considered. Interdisciplinary healthcare teams must consider the safest and most efficient ways to manage their practices and deliver the highest quality care.

This conference, Oncology: Clinical Issues and Trends offers multiple topics in oncology, addressing current and future trends in cancer diagnosis and therapy and will equip oncology physicians, physician assistants and nurses to meet both physiological and psychosocial needs of patients and their families.
