HIGHLIGHTS & BENEFITS
“Never before have physicians and nurses been more constantly challenged to expand their clinical knowledge in providing optimal reproductive health care.” We wrote this sentence 20 years ago, on this page of the brochure, describing the very first Contraceptive Technology conference. That statement is even more true today!
How long have you been in family planning and women’s health care? Long enough to think you understand contraceptive efficacy and risk? We thought so, too, but as you’ll learn, you need to make it clear for today’s informed, as well as overwhelmed, woman. The more we learn about hormonal contraception, the more we find we don’t know. Get the answers to 20 important questions about pills, patches and rings, and learn the latest on the short or zero pill-free intervals. Does anyone really know the current best practices on menopause management? You will, once you hear about all the new options, delivery systems and alternatives.
In our first brochure, we highlighted the news of 1989: “Reproductive health is changing rapidly due to the impact of AIDS, new approaches to infertility, and several new contraceptives -- the cervical cap, the Copper T-380A, the vaginal film and the upcoming Norplant implant.” Twenty years later you will see how far we’ve come in the field of contraception and women’s health…and you will also recognize how much more work still needs to be done.
Whether this is your first “CT,” or you’ve attended since 1989, you’ll appreciate the array of Preconferences delving into selected specialty areas of interest, plenary sessions focusing on the “hottest” topics, a thought-provoking optional Luncheon Presentation and 30 dynamic, interactive Concurrent Sessions focusing on practical clinical information and challenging cases. There is even a Special Session IMPLANON™ Clinical Training, where you can learn to insert and manage our newest method of contraception.
Come prepared to be challenged, to learn, to network, to listen, to interact, to get involved. Help us celebrate 20 years of making a difference in the contraceptive and health needs of women. See you there!
